2009 SUMMER JEWELRY DESIGN CONTEST

OK, all of you beaders and jewelry artists... now's your chance to show off your stuff and win some awesomely cool Kimberly Jae beads! Here are the rules:

  1. Make any piece of jewelry using one or more of my beads. You can use others as well, but mine have to be in there. (Visit my Etsy store for online shopping, or my store Loverly (inside Plantiques) in Newport News to purchase beads.)
  2. Submit up to three pictures of your work to kim@kimberlyjae.com with the subject "Bead Contest Entry" and include your name, address, and a description of your work (name, technique, inspiration, etc.) If your pictures aren't clear enough to view your work for judging, I will ask you to retake your photos.
  3. Your work will be judged on
    • DESIGN (Is it clever? Is it unique? Is it fascinating?)
    • COLOR (Does your use of color enhance your design (I hope) or hinder it (I hope not!)
    • TECHNIQUE (Is your piece well-constructed?)
  4. Only one entry per person - so make it good! Be it a traditional design or completely off the chart, I encourage you to explore your jewelry voice and create something utterly fabulous.
  5. The winner will recieve a gift certificate for $150 to shop for beads, jewelry and/or accessories at Loverly or online in my Etsy store. WOW - $150 worth of free beads! (If there are enough entries to warrant second and third prizes, I will certainly be announcing those winners and offering a prize to them as well.)
